The ENERGYWISE™ Warm up NZ: HeatSmart programme is a government initiative aimed
at improving the energy efficiency of NZ homes. It provides funding to help homeowners
and landlords upgrade the insulation in homes built before 2000. You could be eligible
to receive funding to help insulate your home with GreenStuf® Home Insulation, and
install a clean and efficient heating device.
Who is eligible?
Funding is available for all houses built prior to the 1st of January 2000. Applications
for funding must be made by the home owner. Funding is not available for Housing
NZ homes.
Funding is limited so be in quick so that you don’t miss out.
What’s on Offer?
- GreenStuf® Ceiling and/or GreenStuf® Underfloor insulation
- Draught-proofing of doors
- GreenStuf® Insulation Wrap for your hot water cylinder and hot water pipes
- Ground vapour barrier for under your home
- Options to install ‘clean’ heat (i.e. heating that produces little or no air-pollution)
– ENERGY STAR® qualified heat pumps, modern wood and wood pellet burners or flued
gas space heating.
Why Insulate?
Insulating your home is the single most effective thing you can do to keep your
home warm and to save energy and money. A well insulated home provides year-round
comfort; it is cooler in summer, warmer in winter. A warmer home is a drier, healthier
home.
“Installing ceiling insulation can save up to $400 a year in the colder regions
of New Zealand. Add underfloor insulation and save even more.”
In the last decade electricity costs have increased significantly. You can reduce
the effect of future rises by choosing better insulation in your home today. A fully-insulated
house needs about half the heating of an uninsulated house. In fact, paying a bit
more for insulation now will save you money well into the future, as increased savings
each year will eventually pay for the insulation that will continue saving you money,
year after year after year.
